Fine Maleny a cappella singing,
performer biographies :

Alex Bridge

Alex started singing and playing concertina in a duo in Perth, WA in 1985.

Upon moving to Darwin and whilst working in laboratories, she added a spot of mandolin playing (Prickly Heat band), Morris dancing (Gone Troppo mixed side), sound mixing (Top End Folk Club and Gutter Press  folk-rock band), a cappella harmony singing (No Strings Attached / Sweet Mermaids From Hell / Soundscape / The Wantons / The Stingers), choral (Darwin Chorale) and musical theatre (Yerma / Aussie Shorts / Ruddygore  / Disenchantment / Strong With the Women ) – and then commenced a Fine Art degree!

Alex moved to Brisbane in 1994 to complete her degree, though she managed to fit in singing with Mara Kiek’s Home Lands Choir (Bulgarian) and a season of musical theatre in Boadicea.

Upon moving to Maleny, there was a tug-of-war for her to be in not only WORK-IN-PROGRESS and FINE COTTON, but also The NOEL GARDNER TRIO – it’s OK, they all share her now!!  Alex is a Visual Artist and also works for Green Harvest, organic gardening supplies : http://greenharvest.com.au

*** 2009 : Maleny's Andy Oxidant is experiencing a revival, this time as Andy Oxidant and the Unbelieving Free Radical Gospeleers - but with instruments added this time (Hallelujah, Brother!) - Alexi plays bass, plus vocals. She is also reputedly a member of Paul's new Peacenik Band, The Mixed Guerillas! ***

Recordings : Alex has a group track with No Strings Attached on the Top End Folk Club CD “Roll Back the Years” (1992) plus, backing vocals and percussion on Noel Gardner’s third CD, “Walking This Land” (2005).
